Jade was generally regarded as a lucky or protective gemstone. In prehistoric times it was a natural choice for crafting tools and weapons. The ancient Egyptians revered it as the stone for balance, harmony and love. As early as 3000 BC the Chinese people referred to Jade as the 'Royal Gem'. Chinese culture regards Jade as representing the Confucian values of compassion, courage, justice, modesty, and wisdom.
While predominantly green, Jade comes in many colours with each colour being attributed different emotional effects.
Green is calming, lavender helps emotional balance, blue encourages thought and imagination, orange and red Jade gives the wearer energy.
