William Strutt was an artist who recorded scenes of Victoria during the period of early development and gold rush. He kept a record of his sketches and notes in book form.
The original was acquired by the then Premier of Victoria from William Strutt in early C20.
It is regarded as the State Library of Victoria’s greatest treasure.
It was reproduced in 1980 by the Library Committee of the Parliament of Victoria, with comment by Marjorie Tipping, in it’s original form. It is a large book, 360mm x 500mm.
The copy acquired by Newlyn Antiques and Cottage Garden Nursery is in mint condition, leather bound, hard cover in its original packaging. It has 83 pages of text and 100 colour plates.
There are few copies of this rare book available for sale.
