HENRY DISSTON (1819 - 1878)
Was an English American Industrialist who started the Keystone Saw Works in 1840. He began working life as a saw-makers apprentice. He started his own saw making business and by the 1850s Disston's Saws were renowned as being superior even to the English. He invented the "skewback saw".
The Superior all round quality of Disston's tools and production became the benchmark for all tool makers.
