M2429N Quart measure Beer Tavern Jug of Pewter from around the 1860s, early Victorian.
Quart measure Beer Tavern Jug of pewter from around the 1860s, early Victorian. ($150)
We believe that it has an English touchmark, though we cannot find it in our Encyclopedia of Old Pewter Makers and Touchmarks. We believe that because it is clearly marked a quart measure. However, it is also engraved on the base in old English “King of Prussia...” and is superbly engraved with a monogram which includes the letters W & R, which could be Wilhelm, who was the King of Prussia around that time. It is in excellent condition which also indicates it has not seen the interior of very many Beer Taverns.
