Comment: In superb condition with original patina. Purchased in North East England in 1995, then shipped to Australia to take pride of place in a rural pastoral property. Sutherland tables are similar to Pembroke tables, but smaller. They were designed for ease of movement. They are a drop leaf table with a narrow center section compared to the broad leaves. They have a gate leg construction. They were produced from mid Victorian (1860's) England and are named for the Duchess of Sutherland for whom we surmise the first table was made.
